A native of Jacó beach, Costa Rica, Anthonny found his passion for surfing at eight years old when an American family, the Bunch family, introduced him to the sport. Sponsoring and encouraging Anthonny from day one, William “Chappie” Bunch became his mentor, coach, friend, and second Dad.

Today, more than two decades later, Anthonny is a 6-time Central American longboard champion and a 6-time Costa Rican national longboard champion. Now based in the Space Coast, Florida, USA, he continues to compete in regional and international surf competitions, representing Costa Rica in the Men’s Longboard division and working toward his dream of becoming a world champ one day.

Thankful for the opportunities surfing has given him in his life, Anthonny gives back to his local community and helps kids and up-and-coming surfers whenever he can. When is he not training or competing professionally, he shares his love for surfing through private lessons and hosting small-group trips to Costa Rica.

Anthonny embodies the Costarican Pura Vida “pure life” philosophy, sharing down-to-earth good vibes wherever he goes.
